The Trickiest Maze

?Ringgggg, Ringgggg, Ringgggg”, the alarm clock went off. The alarm clock waited for someone to press the button on the clock, but nobody pressed it, so the alarm kept ringing. Josh and Jennim?s clock continued ringing, but they didn?t wake up yet. They had a wonderful dream. Suddenly, there was a Big BANG that made Josh and Jennim wake up. Their mother was very angry about the clock ringing. She opened the door and grabbed the alarm clock like she was going to break it. She turned it off.

?YOU HAVEN?T WOKE UP YET?? Their mom shouted.

?Yes mom.? Jennim mumbled quietly.

?Take a bath with your brother and come down to eat breakfast now, do you understand?? Their mother spoke firmly.

?Yes, mom,? both Josh and Jennim replied.

Josh said he was going back to bed, but Jennim scurried off to the bathroom. She picked up her clothes and showered quietly. Josh?s alarm clock went off, but Josh didn?t wake up.

?Uh oh?, Jennim thought, ?He is getting in very big trouble.?

?JOSH!? Mom shouted again.

Josh scurried to the bathroom and hid inside. Jennim went downstairs to eat breakfast.

?You are going to a new school in the middle of the woods today,? her mother said calmly, like nothing happened. She started packing Jennim?s lunch box when Josh came stumbling down the stairs. Josh was wearing black long pants and a black coat. He was even wearing a tie! But Jennim shivered, and she had to curl her blonde, straight hair to cover her face so she could hide the fear she had! She was afraid of the middle of the woods. She was wearing a blue dress with a blue bow. She was very excited and scared about her new school. She hopped around and took her bow and arrow. She went out of her house and smelled the fresh air. She loved nature. But when a chicken came out of nowhere and tried to peck her, she shot it with the bow and arrow. She was in danger.

Jennim eventually found her way to the school. She and Josh stood under a 20 story building. It tilted, and looked like it was going to fall any moment.

?Welcome?, a gentle voice spoke ?Welcome to Berkenly School?

?Hi?? Jennim muttered under her breath.

The woman that just spoke was very old and she was wearing big round glasses. ?Hello, my name is Stacy Brekenly.?

Jennim had visited this school before but didn?t know it was the school of wisdom.

She went through the door and there was a cool breeze of flowers. A man came by and noticed her. When he came closer, Jennim could see his name tag and it read ?Doglus?. He greeted her while Josh wandered off without telling Jennim. Jennim was led to the gigantic classroom. Some of the teachers in the classroom was picking out some books. Some were Grimm?s tales or Catcher in the Rye. There was not a place to sit, she was in a huge library. Some old lady staring at her.

Suddenly a girl with pink flower glasses walked past Jennim. ?Hello, are you the new student, oh I want to be your friend, can I?? That girl spoke very quickly and excitedly.

?Sure,? Jennim replied ?What is your name, my name is Jennim Johnson!?

?My name is Jennis Crusoe,? Jennis spoke.

They started giggling and laughing while they made friends.

Jennim and Jennis went to the bell room so it was all quiet. They were talking a little bit too long when the bell rang. They didn?t hear the bell and the doors of the school locked. They were stuck inside the school.

Josh also had a new friend! He was stuck in the school too! He looked at his clock and ran to the main gate, it was locked. Jennim ran to the main gate, Josh and Jennim stared and looked at each other. They were locked inside the school. Jennim ran to Jennis and tried to get out. Josh ran to Jackson. They were running through the halls and knocking at every door they saw. The last door had tiny handles and there was a creaking voice inside. They knocked and the door opened.

?What are you doing in the middle of the night girls and boys. If you are stuck, come in and you can rest here if you want.? The old woman croaked. She was wearing a leather coat and it was ripped. She looked very similar to a woman she saw in the library. She looked very young inside the library, but very old from the door. Jennim, Jennis, Josh, and Jackson went into the door of the room. The old lady locked the door and laughed violently.

Jennim was taught to fight and trick people that already tricked you. The old lady forced the girls to work at the school. Josh and Jackson were trapped inside a cage. The witch or the old lady gave Josh and Jackson lots of yummy food to make them fat. ?The witch planned to eat Josh and Jackson. Jennim wouldn?t let that happen to her brother and to his annoying friend, she had to help them out of the cage. Jennim and Jennis made a plan. Jennim thought of the story ?Hansel and Gretel?, Gretel used a chicken bone to make the witch feel like Hansel had not grown.

She decided to make a pot of chicken for the witch. After that, she took two bones, cleaned it and gave it to Jackson and Josh. Every time the witch came to touch the fingers of Josh and Jackson, it was skinny every time. The witch became very impatient, so she tried to cook Josh, but when she thought that adult?s meat was better than child?s meat, she let Josh, Jennim, Jennis, and Jackson go. She set up a maze and put three boxes inside the maze. They must find a way out so they can get out of the maze.

The witch told everyone (including Josh) that they can escape out. Jennim thought that this was their only chance to escape. Jennim went through one of the halls, wall, but then, when she turned back, there was no pathway at all. Jennim was stuck. The others were stuck too. Josh and Jackson walked together. But Josh said he was walking another way and Jackson another way. Instead, it became that they were separated and were crying.

Jennim knew something was different. She was walking towards a wall and now she is stuck. ?She started observing inside and she found some flowers and picked it up. Suddenly a wooden panel appeared. BOOM. A box collapsed on it. She picked it up and studied the carvings on it. It had beautiful flowers and a lovely scent.

Inside was a leather piece of paper. It was tightly knotted with a long piece of green string. She held it tight, and she knew this was the right box. She opened it and looked inside! She carefully unfolded the leather paper. She realizes that it was the map to get out of the maze. Jennim jumped over a short wall passing by and she fell into a pit! She wished that she didn?t jump into the pit! And suddenly, whoop, Jennis fell into the pit too.

They laughed and laughed, whoop again, and then another whoop. Josh and Jackson fell into the pit too. It felt like four kids were going to fall. The pit made them all bounce. The bounce made them very cold. Wind tangled their hair and clothes. They escaped. They realized they were time traveling! Finally, they came to the stage of giving the witch the boxes. Jennim felt a tingle and they were jewels! She was gonna be rich at home!?
