Chapter 1-The Treehouse
There was once a lady who lived in a treehouse with her dog named Brystal. The lady was named after the famous story character called Melody. She had long beautiful braids and golden shining hair. She wore a beautiful turquoise and cyan dress. She was an orphan girl who nobody wanted to have as their daughter. The poor lady lost her parents when she was ten and then started living in a treehouse.
Brystal, her dog, was found in a cage when someone in the town below captured him. She freed the dog and she was glad to have him. He was called Brystal because Melody loved crystals. Melody was a pomeranian with dark brown eyes and fur as soft as feathers. His fur was light brown. He loved to play with Melody and he also upgraded the tricks Melody taught him to be a funny dance!
She lived high in a treehouse that overlooked the town below. The people in the town thought that she was strange to live in a treehouse when respectable people live on the ground in regular houses. Her treehouse was definitely better than the houses in the town. Her house was very big. She had three floors. Each of them had their own furniture. On each floor, Melody didn?t repeat any of the furniture. One room had a bathtub and swimming pool. And one had a big garden. And the garden also had swings. The house was enormous, but the tree was even bigger. It was a giant oak tree that grew over 2000 years. It had big branches that were bigger than some streets in the town.
Even though her treehouse was better. The people below her in the town looked down on her and thought she was crazy to live in a tree with a dog named Brystal. The people in the town still thought that she was silly to live in a tree when there were perfectly nice houses around the sea.
Chapter 2-The Town
The town had at least thirty houses and ten of them were located near the shore of a spectacular lake. The people in this town always did things the same way, everyday. They like repetition and boredom. Many of the people protested for Melody to stop being so crazy. They wanted her to be as boring as they were. They put up signs that said, ?Only birds live in trees.? But some of the people stopped protesting because they said it was her choice to live in treehouses. Some said that Melody was not a proper part of their community because she was so strange. Melody put up a sign of her own that said, ?Your ancestors lived in trees. Hello fellow monkeys?. The older people in the town did not understand. The young ones laughed.
Melody was not bothered by the people in the town thinking she was odd. She knew she could be a proper citizen in their town if she wanted to be like everyone else. But her house was so nice, and she wondered why they did not live in trees. She had a beautiful view of the city from her living room window, but the people in the town could barely see her tree. She had almost everything she wanted in her treehouse.
Melody liked her privacy. Even though Melody liked her privacy, she still was very lonely. She wished for visitors everyday. On the other hand, she loved being with nature. Birds, foxes, cats, and other friendly creatures love to visit her. She liked to visit them too! Animals were so much easier to get along with than people. But she couldn?t communicate with them; people could speak her language. She needed a human friend, especially one who liked being in a tree. She looked over the town again. Kids were pointing to her treehouse and crying and jumping because they wanted to live in her treehouse. The adults in the town thought these young people were crazy.
Then, she overheard a boy shouting so loudly, Melody could barely hear him but he sounded interesting.
Chapter 3-The Boy With Lots of Interests
In the town there was the Hoocat family with four girls and three boys. One of them was David Hoocat. He was related to Melody, but never knew anything about his aunt and uncle. David Hoocat was eight years old. David wanted to live in the treehouse with Melody because he wanted freedom. He always wanted to skip school and take his friends to a mysterious place and her tree house seemed like the perfect place.. But his parents told him to stay away from nature and strange girls who lived in treehouses.. His parents, like most of the people in the town, did not appreciate an adventure.
One day he made up a plan with his friends. They decided to find a way to go into Melody?s treehouse. David wanted to secretly explore her house. His friends agreed and started packing up the stuff they would need for a successful break-in to a treehouse:ropes, ladders, and masks to cover their faces. The boys were excited by this new adventure but also a little afraid; their parents said the girl who lived there was strange and dangerous.
They explored the forest and found a ladder already there leading up to nowhere. But when the boys looked some more they saw that the ladder led to the opening of a treehouse with a locked door. David and his friends climbed up the ladder until they saw an enormous treehouse. But his friends got dizzy from the height of the very tall ladder and fell down and got scratches. Afraid to climb anymore, they fell asleep.
For David, this mission was important; he would go to the top no matter what. He managed to go to the place where he knocked on a door with marble steps. He sat down with a bump and tilted his head downwards. He was super dizzy. After a while he looked up and saw three floors. One glimpse of a swimming pool and a glimpse of a garden.
Chapter 4-Melody Meets a New Friend
A young lady opened the door with a surprised face. Only her dog or her birds knock on her door. David went in and gazed at her chair, TV and staircase. He ran up the stairs and saw a 200 meter swimming pool. He saw an enormous bookshelf and lots of chairs to sit on.
?Wow. This place is fantastic. Now I understand why you want to live in a tree. My name is David. What is yours??
?Melody. I thought everyone in the town knew my name because they think I am crazy.?
Melody started explaining every bit of her house, with lots of details. When David?s watch rang, he said goodbye to Melody and climbed down the ladder. He took his friends and ran to a playground where he and his friends usually play. His parents came to pick him up at the playground while he and his friends were climbing on the swings.
?Mom. Dad. you wouldn?t believe how beautiful that treehouse everyone is always talking about is. It has a swimming pool.?
?Who told you that you could go there? A crazy girl lives there with her crazy dog. Dogs don?t live in trees.?
David felt ashamed about telling his parents what he saw in the treehouse. He knew for sure that he would get grounded and when he wanted to play. His parents would have to watch him. David decided he wanted to change his parents? minds about Melody. She did not seem strange to him. In fact, it looked to him like she lived a very fancy life.
Chapter 5-The Breaking News
David decided people should have life like Melody. He took pictures of Melody(Brystal too). He wrote an article talking about how good it was to be in nature and treehouses. He thought the students in his school would want to hear about her awesome treehouse. It took him a whole week to write the article and put in the photos he liked the best. When it was finished he was quite proud. When the people in the town read David?s article, they became curious about Melody and her tree house. Some of them thought the story was not real. But many wanted to see for themselves
Melody started having visitors like funny and polite kids. Some of the parents visited her too. She made a pathway for visitors and a welcome sign of her own. She showed them magic tricks she had taught her dog and showed her talent for cooking spectacular food. She showed her talent of engineering and a talent for building some things which were very unusual.
Melody started to make friends and now she was never lonely. Talking to Brystal was good but how can you talk to a dog about your bad hair day. She was talking to everyone and she competed and fixed almost everything for other people from and out of the town.
She was sick one day, with a high fever and developed high cancer. She knew medical information and she realised that she should not be eating any food. She should only be eating vegetables. So she developed more cancer, until David could not stand staying still, he told his father, who was a doctor, about Melody?s symptoms David?s father, who was called Dr. Michael, saved Melody for the 5 last days of goodbyes. The last goodbye was from David Hoocat. She secretly placed a metal stamp with gold and silver stuck to it.
?You are now the owner of this treehouse David, thanks for the wonderful adventure with me? Melody trailed off. The next day, Melody had passed away with respect from everyone in the town, but that was only the beginning. It turned out that she did not pass away, she was healthy with her healthy dog. She had courage and cured herself like she was a doctor. She and Dr. Michael tried hard and made her healthy.
