Forest Alone

Second Grade Summer 2021

It was a night when our parents were away on a trip and we were alone. We decided to go out in the darkness to explore the outside world in the pitch-black dark world. We swung on trees and vines and we had so much fun!

It was fun until…when we were going home we got lost! We decided to live and survive until dawn but first we had to make or find shelter or a home. We can stay in for the night.

We had to make shelter. We used sticks, logs, leaves, and vines. We build and build until… our shelter is done! We built a tree house just for us!

We also made beds, pillows, and blankets for the night! We got in bed and a good night’s sleep would do good for us three. We slept for longer than we thought we would because we woke up at 12 pm! We immediately searched for a way home.

Our parents must be so worried. We searched and searched until 10 pm! And searched until dawn with no sleep. We still could not find our home or even a street!

We slept past the night and searched for our house again. No luck and no food we decided to hunt for food so we do not die in the dark forest.

We had to make stone tools. It was hard so we decided to make wooden tools to mine for stone then make a machine that can carve stone! We made wooden tools then now to get the stone with a picaxe! Thok! Thok! We managed to get enough stone before the wooden pickaxe broke.

?We are gonna do some searching tomorrow,? I said. We also managed to make a glider to glide high to find our home. Then we realized we were on a deserted island!!!

A few days later we managed to make goggles to dive in the ocean to see what’s happening. What we saw surprised us. Our hometown! Now we get it we swung on leaves and vines to this mountain just in time before the flood came and sank the city into water! We then realized that was not our town, it was atlantis!!!

We used rocks to spell ?SOS? in case a plane flies by then they could get the signal and rescue us! Then we saw a helicopter landing on this island.

They got our message and came to see! We flew back home. Our mom and dad were sitting in the living room extremely worried until we said, ?Hi mom and dad were home.?

They were relieved to see us again. We were away for so long! ?The end? we said at the same time yay!

The audience cheered as a strange voice came from behind the curtain. Please cast your votes for each group’s plays.

And the winner is? the three mice! They won! They got the performance play trophy and went home happily ever after.
