Snow Day

Winter 2020 Fourth Grade

There was an old lady who lived in an old house.? She was watching a peaceful knitting show. There was a cat sleeping by her feet in front of the fireplace. She grabbed a piece of fabric and followed the knitting on the TV.? There was a knock on her door.

When she opened the door, it was her friends who came to visit. It was snowing outside, and she told them to quickly enter the house. They rushed into the house and took off their coats and boots. The old lady asked them if they wanted some hot chocolate.

They replied, ?Yes, thank you?.

The old woman entered the kitchen and warmed up some hot milk. Then one of the friends took the fabric and started knitting with her. The old woman passed the hot chocolate to all of her friends. Then they all drank up but then one woman brought out homemade cookies.

The old woman said, ?These cookies are so good. Cecilia, what flavor are the cookies??

?The flavors are peanut butter, marshmallow filled chocolate cookies, and all time Christmas favorite good old gingerbread,? Cecilia.

Everyone picked up their own knitting and started talking about their grandchildren. Cecilia said that her grandson called her this morning to tell her that he missed her.

Lucia?s granddaughter called and said, ?Where are you??

?I am at Cecilia?s house doing peaceful stuff like knitting and chatting,? Lucia replied.

?Can you come home soon? It is time to have dinner,? Lucia?s granddaughter asked.

Then Lucia replied, ?Oh you can come here and have dinner with us. We are making roast turkey and sweets like cookies.?

Lucia?s granddaughter said that she did not want to bother her grandmother?s friends. She will tell her family that grandmother will be eating dinner with her friends.

Lucia replied, ?Oh it’s fine you can come over to eat.?

Lucia?s granddaughter asked, ?Can I ask all of the other families to join also??

?Oh! Yes, they can come over.?

In 15 minutes, four families showed up at Cecilia?s door. There were over 30 people. All the families brought over food.

So now the old lady is no longer alone, and she was filled with joy. Her grandson ran to Cecilia and gave her a big hug.

Cecilia was filled with a lot of love.
