Honesty

Fall 2020 ???????????? Fourth Grade

?If parents are not honest with their kids, it may result in the kids becoming bad. If they find out that the parents lied, the kids will get mad.?

One day a kid was asking his mother, ?Mommy, are you going out tonight??

The mother said, ?No? but while the kid was at school, the mother went out to party.

Once the kid got home, it was late because of his activities after school. Without telling the kid, the mother went out with her friends. He went upstairs to shower and change. Once he was in bed, he thought as usual that his mom would come in and read him a story. After a long time of waiting, he went to sleep.

During the night, he woke up racing through his thoughts. He thought about where his mom was. He thought about why his mom did not come to see him. He went to check his mom?s bedroom, but she was not there. He started crying in his mom?s bed.

After a while, his mom came home tired then she walked up stairs and saw her son crying on the bed. She walked up to him and said, ?Are you ok? What happened??

He said, ?You were gone all night. I did not get to see you. You promised that you were going to be at home. I thought that you left me. Tell me the truth. Where were you at??

Mom said, ?I was out….sorry.? She explained everything and then she felt bad. He ran back to his room and sadly laid in bed. Mom went in her room sadly sitting down on her bed. She felt mad at herself for lying to her son about not going out and being home for her son.

She went to see her son in his room. She apologized to her son and the last thing she said, ?I promise again.? Her son hugged her as a way to accept her apology.

To Parents who are reading this story. This is why you should not lie to your kids because when you lie to them, you can hurt them.
